August 7, Sunday

Last Friday, I bought The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene. I glanced over it yesterday and early Sunday, and I must say it’s a fascinating read. I’ve had the concise edition before and thought of getting the bigger version.

The book features 9 types of seducers and 18 types of victims. Greene uses historical facts on discussing the psychology behind seduction, some of the profiles he used are Cleopatra and John F. Kennedy.

One paragraph that caught my attention is:

The greatest mistake in seduction is being too nice. At first, perhaps, your kindness is charming, but it soon grows monotonous; you are trying too hard to please, and seem insecure…. To heighten the erotic charge, create the excitement of fear.

Some of my plans for the year and the future. Always a refreshing way to start the weekday! I’d love to share them with you, but I don’t want to jinx them. (Note: I can’t wait for October to come!)

To get my priorities straight and achieve my goals. #LIFE

Sunday Currently Nikko Panti HIV testing Misterbaks

That everyone should go out and get tested for HIV! I did it the other night while I was out with friends in West Hollywood. I’m happy to report that I am HIV negative. I thought that I want to make myself useful to the community by promoting HIV testing to friends and others. So, go out get tested!

Gucci’s Guilty. I’m so obsessed with this perfume right now!

Roberta Flack’s beautiful rendition of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”. I heard from a breathtaking scene of the hit TV series Scandal.

I’m now in the third season of Shameless! I’m so hooked at this series and loving Fiona and her siblings every episode.

Billy Eichner as Billy Epstein and Julie Klausner as Julie Kessler.

I also started watching Difficult People, a comedy series on Hulu, starring Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner. They are two 30-something best friends who live in New York City, struggling to make a career in comic/stand-up. It gives me a great laugh whenever I watch it. They are currently on their second season, new episodes are streaming every Tuesday.

That I can sneak in a little vacation this month. I’m eyeing a trip to San Francisco, again.

The look of the new iOS 10! I already uploaded the beta version because I can’t wait for the release this Fall. I also installed macOS Sierra for my MacBook Air. I’m looking forward to the next Keynote where they will announce their latest offerings, pretty excited for the Apple Watch.

To feel better again. I’m down with coughs and colds and some muscle pain over the weekend.

So-so. I blame my sickness for this!

For Filipino-style fried pork chops. By the way, I still haven’t satisfied my craving for burgers. Le sad!

If you’re working or looking to work in the Public Relations industry, Cameron Craig, a communications expert who has been employed at Apple for 10 years, wrote what he learned while doing PR for the tech giant.

This video shown at the Democratic National Convention about Hillary Clinton. Just WOW!

Until next Sunday!

July 24, Sunday

I started reading Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on The Train and the first couple of pages blew me away. I’ve had this book for a really long time and just had the opportunity to read through its pages recently. It’s a thrilling reading experience! I will be writing an in-depth review once I finished reading it. There’s also a film adaptation in the works, which will be in theaters October this year. Exciting!

My subscription for a Sunday edition of The New York Times started today.

Two weeks ago, I bought 1 Page At A Time by Adam J. Kurtz and I just started working on a page yesterday. I love how broad the topics are, I can’t wait to explore about my level of creativity and learning more about myself. Also, let’s see if I can really draw.

To go back to the gym!

I’m obsessed with anything that has a pomegranate scent. I rambled through the shelves of Target and Walmart just recently for linen sprays and gel scents.

The repeat button of my phone is abused with “Nautilus” by L’anarchiste. I first heard the song from MTV’s Awkward.

Of the current situation that I have with this guy that I’m seeing. We’re not really defining something (yet), but I’m happy whenever I’m with him.

I started watching Shameless, the US version, which looks into the dysfunctional Gallagher family. Frank, the alcoholic father, spends the day drinking while his children learn to survive the day on their own. I instantly fell in love with the characters, especially Fiona, Lip, Ian, and Vanessa. Emmy Rossum is the best! I’m already on the 5th episode of season one.

Standing: Jeremy Allen White as Phillip “Lip” Gallagher; Cameron Monaghan as Ian Gallagher; and Steve Howey as Kevin Ball Seated: Emmy Rossum as Fiona Gallagher, Liam Gallagher; Ethan Cutkosky as Carl Gallagher; William H. Macy as Frank Gallagher; Emma Kenney as Debbie Gallagher; and Shanola Hampton as Veronica “V” Fisher

Shameless is an adaptation of the UK television series. The seventh season will premiere this Fall on Showtime. If you wanna catch up on this series, the first four season are on Netflix.

That Fall comes sooner. The scorching heat of the summer is killing me! I’m forever grateful for the inventor of air conditioners.

how technology connects you to family and friends from thousand of miles away. I’m hoping to have more time to talk to them. I really miss them a lot!

To see Netflix’s Chelsea live again. If it’s available to stream in your country, watch it! It’s a non-traditional late night talk show that is hosted by the talented Chelsea Handler.

for burgers! I’ll invite my cousins to go to Umami Burger or Shake Shack this coming week.

flustered. I don’t know why.

I’ve always been fascinated with the business structure of BuzzFeed. Here’s an article of how Jonah Peretti built “a digital media powerhouse read by 79 million people every month“.

It was announced at the International AIDS Conference that there’s an ongoing trial for an HIV vaccine in South Africa. It is said in the article that “36.9 million people are currently living with HIV worldwide.” A medical breakthrough if proven successful! (Please get tested for HIV!)

Online influencers have become the new “stylists” and showed the world that they are the new “squad goals”. Does a million of followers on their social media accounts their greatest asset or the influence they have on their followers. What is it that matters most? Influence or numbers!

See you next Sunday!

Strolling around the parks in San Francisco, I can’t help myself taking photos of various flowers that blooms beautifully under the basking sun and breezy weather. I’m really fascinated with nature, period. The lovely scene curated and nurtured by the Earth. Also, as they say, it’s relaxing! I don’t have a green thumb — well, I haven’t tried gardening and doesn’t see myself doing it anytime soon.

But I do have with me an iPhone application that helps me identify what type of plant I see because I’m not an expert. (You can download it too, here’s the link) Currently, I’m in love with Camellias and Carolina Roses. I wanna share the photos with you guys and let me end this post with one of my favorite quotes:

Twenty Three

I was reading the drafts from my old WordPress blog, then I came across my birthday blog post two years ago. Back in 2013; I knew where I wanted to be and I am certain at my goal and was focused to reach it.

Aren’t we tired of saying this every year? Mostly on the day of our birth, seldom on New Year’s eve. Do we really know where we are heading? What we wanted to achieve? But then again, only time can reveal.

Two years after, here I am in a foreign land celebrating my twenty-three years of existence on this planet. I don’t know where I am headed and what are my goals. I am not focused. What to do?

I am a year older, but not a year wiser. I hope next year, I’ll be!

P.S. In case you’ll ask, I didn’t get to my goal 2 years ago.

Two years ago, I shared with you this same quote from Maria Ressa.

The person you are today is created by all your past selves, but your actions today actually CHANGE those older versions of yourself.

A new home!

This is my new digital home using a new domain. I hope it will give me all the energy to write and update this blog. I have been meaning to write for the longest time, to share with everyone my new life experiences – that is surely worth sharing.

So, see you soon!
